Zhejiang Oilfield has set a new domestic record for deep shale gas drilling.

On November 28th, it was learned that the Da'an 1H28-4 well, located in the Linjiang syncline of the Da'an block in western Chongqing, was successfully drilled. With a single run of rotary steering achieving a total footage of 3,190 meters and a horizontal section of 2,575 meters, it not only set a new record for the longest horizontal section in the Da'an block but also established a new domestic record for the rotary steering single-run footage of deep shale gas horizontal wells.
The 1H28-4 well, which reached a total depth of 6,915 meters, was drilled by the Daqing Drilling 70241 drilling team. Throughout the drilling process, the Exploration and Development Department of Zhejiang Oilfield fully played the leading role of the client, taking the "design, technology, tools, organization, management, and incentives" six acceleration measures as the core, and established an efficient collaboration system between the client and the contractor, providing comprehensive support for improving the quality and speed of drilling.
To ensure the safe and efficient progress of the drilling operation, the project team innovatively implemented a "daily analysis, weekly summary, and monthly review" work mechanism. Through the seamless integration of remote intelligent monitoring and on-site precise execution, real-time control of the drilling process was achieved. At the same time, in response to the risks such as stuck pipe and fluid loss that are prone to occur in deep shale gas drilling, a complete risk warning system was established in advance, and special technical response plans were formulated to build a solid safety line for the drilling operation.
The birth of this new record is not only a landmark achievement of Zhejiang Oilfield in the field of accelerating and improving the quality of deep shale gas drilling but also accumulates valuable experience for the subsequent large-scale development of the Da'an block. It will strongly promote the continuous progress of deep shale gas exploration and development technology in China.
